Marriage Ministry

Marriages can be difficult to maintain. Misunderstanding, confusion, resentment, and anger can flare up in any marriage. Several couples at our church serve other families as marriage counselors. Their role in listening, understanding, helping, and encouraging struggling couples has, by God’s grace, saved marriages, and repaired relationships. Couples have found fresh hope and new joy in a warm and fulfilling relationship with their spouse. Even though marriage is one of the most important institutions, it is the one which is under the most attack–internally and externally. The church gives married couples the opportunity to join four month marriage classes including topics such as Marriage and Money, Getting Ready for kids and Keeping the Romantic live.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Beginning at midnight each Sunday until 11:59 pm on Monday night, a team of prayer warriors are praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, our Prayer Warriors team prays for the pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Tuesday @ 6:30 p.m., the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.

Children’s Ministry

The Children’s Ministry is designed to meet the needs of children 6-11 years of age.  This ministry seeks to be creative and relevant to the needs of our children.  At this very impressionable age, our intent is on imprinting upon their youth hearts and minds the importance of learning about Jesus Christ, setting the proper foundation for further growth.  It is designed to work with parents– reinforcing and reaffirming what our children should learn in the home.  One of our greatest teaching tools is leading by example and by bringing them to Church.  With the parent’s participation in ministry, and praying and praising the Lord at home, we set before them that needed example.  They will learn the importance of becoming involved by seeing our involvement. It takes all of us to raise them!  Jesus said in the Gospel of Mark 10:14, “But suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the Kingdom of God.” The ministry’s objective is to get away from the baby-sitter mode by garnering the parent’s participation in assisting this ministry with setting the proper foundation for future growth through activities and events that encourage this interaction between parents and ministry.

Youth Ministry

We seek to raise a holy generation of youth leaders and young people who reflect a dynamic life in Christ through the process of accountable discipleship— accountable in their relationship with Jesus by spending time alone with God (Bible study and prayer), relating Jesus to their lifestyle, and impacting our community. The ministry, serving youth age 12 and up, will seek to strengthen their family relationships, especially with the fathers, through reconciliation & parental involvement. Our strategy to accomplish the mission of the ministry is simple – Caring, building bridges, worshiping, supporting, equipping, and ministering.

Each month, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. The youth ministry of our church is recognized for their meaningful interaction with kids. Our youth are important to God and New Cedar Grove. We are committed to their spiritual growth and continually pray for them.  For this reason, we dedicate time during our Sunday morning worship service to pray for our youth.  If you have a youth in need of prayer, we welcome them.

Young Adults

Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group of our church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.

Women’s Ministry

Women’s groups give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s ministry are times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church. The mission of the Women’s Ministry is to build on our personal faith in the Lord while using our opportunities as women – with imagination and courage – to achieve for God. This ministry will serve as a means of bringing the women of Cedar Grove together to fulfill this mission.

Objectives: Host regular ministry meetings that serve as a forum for women to come together to handle the business of the ministry with a consistent opportunity for fellowship with other women.  Create opportunities for ministry through events and activities such as Women’s Unity Weekend, as well as a variety of outreach efforts.

Men’s Ministry

Accountability among men is an act of integrity. Accountability is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages. The Men’s ministry purpose is to help men connect with God and each other through mutual encouragement and accountability to foster ongoing spiritual growth.  To equip, empower and deploy men in Christian service to their family, church, community, and the world. We seek to develop the leadership of this ministry through deliberate training.  Also, to create an environment where men can truly go deep in accountable relationships with other Christian men, through get-togethers that include Bible or book study, discussions, and prayer that will develop open accountability to address the temptations men struggle with, To equip men for service.  To promote unity within the body of Christ and to teach all men how to become “Mighty Men of God”.

Mother’s Board

The Mother’s Board, a group of senior women within the church, is appointed by the pastor for teaching and admonishment of the younger women to a holy walk. The board is an extension of the pastors’ arm, and because of their tenure and longevity in the church, they assist, and are helpful in the implementation of the women’s work in the church.  They are women of keen insight, and have at their disposal the rich heritage of our great church that allows them to be examples of true saints of God.

Objectives:  The Mother Board’s main responsibilities are preparing and assisting the candidates for Baptism, preparing the table for the administration of Holy Communion and assisting in Devotional Service.  They conduct activities in support of the Pastor’s Vision, to include hosting programs and rallies.  They also counsel the younger women and make recommendations to the pastor regarding ministry needs of the church body.
